Bill Belichick takes another tomb on Falcons over the notorious Super Bowl defeat

March 28 apparently represents more than the last Friday of the month of former New England Patriots coach Bill Belichick.

The six-time Super Bowl champion Patriots coach decided to spend the day on the calendar to troll a team that Patriots defeated in the big game more than eight years ago. New England overcame a 25-point deficit to defeat Atlanta Falcons in Overtime in Super Bowl 2017.

At one point, the patriots falcons pulled with a score of 28-3. Belichick referred to the long -standing joke as he posed for a photo with Jordon Hudson.

In a photo sent to her Instagram stories, Hudson wore a shirt that said, “Champions Super Bowl Li Falcons” as she stood next to Belichick in what seemed to be a hotel room.

“Happy 3-28 to those who celebrate,” Hudson wrote the picture.

In another Instagram stories from Hudson, she showed a few keychain.

“Live every day as it is 3-28,” said one of the keychain, while the other showed a screen shot of the third quarter scoring as the Patriots were behind 25 points.

Why the 2025 NFL draft is made to mimic Eagles’ Championship Formula

This is not the first time Hudson has taken a shot against Falcons. She was photographed wearing the same shirt in New Orleans during the last month’s Super Bowl -Week.

Many Patriots fans try to mock Falcons annually over the notorious loss by turning the numbers on the calendar.

While it was long discussed whether Belichick or Tom Brady was the key to Patriots’ race to six Super Bowl titles, the coach had little success without his star -quarterback.

Belichick had one mostly failed coaching period during his time at the helm of Cleveland Browns before taking the Patriots job. Brady left New England after the 2019 season and won his seventh Super Bowl with Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

The patriots went 7-9 in their first season without Brady. While Patriots played playoffs in 2020, they couldn’t win a post -season game. New England missed the playoffs in 2022 and was one of the worst teams in the NFL in 2023.

Belichick and the Patriots parted ways after the season 2023. He failed to draw a lot of interest from the NFL team looking for a new head coach at the time, but Falcons gave him an interview.

The team eventually hired Raheem Morris. Belichick sat out of coaching last season, but he recently accepted the main coach job in North Carolina.
