Bill Belichick’s time at North Carolina may already be quitting.
UNC has reportedly had “potential exit strategy discussions” on Tuesday per. 247 Sports. This is coming as Belichicks Tar Heels is 2-3 through their first five matches in his opening season as a college main trainer.
North Carolina has reportedly had “preliminary conversations” about the firing of Belichick, which would be a huge $ 20 million buyout as part of his contract. 247 Sports, however, points out that an alleged violation of rules can help the program either eliminating or reducing buyout.

While the university has the conversation, Belichick reportedly thinks of it too.
Belichick has “discussed acquisition opportunities with North Carolina’s hierarchy”, where he has “signaled a willingness to trigger his own $ 1 million buyout if he can find a soft landing with another team or in media,” according to college soccer journalist Ollie Connolly.

These rumors come as UNC is in the middle of his bye week, and it’s certainly not like Belichick or anyone imagined his leap in college football after his famous NFL coaching career.
But even though the product in the field has not been large, there has also been some drama from it. Cornerbacks coach Armond Hawkins was suspended for allegedly giving players extra benefits that include sideline passes for family members.
A lawsuit was also brought in North Carolina, which claims that the university board hired Belichick illegally.

And now things have become so bad for Tar Heels that the hulu documents to follow around Belichick through his college football trip were reportedly scrapped because of the bad start. The project had only been announced in August, but the plug has been drawn.
Belichick’s latest loss was a blow in the hands of Clemson at home, 38-10, with Tigers put 28 points in the first quarter and coasting to victory from there. They owned a 35-3 lead at the break, which ultimately led to Dabo Swinney to pull some starters down the stretch.
With reported dysfunction in Belichick’s program, there is also his 24-year-old girlfriend, Jordon Hudson, whose presence was criticized before even debuting in a 48-10 blowout loss to TCU.
Hudson is regularly seen on the sidelines before games talking to Belichick and even ACC Commissioner Jim Phillips this past week.

Currently, Belichick will use the bye week to go up to Tar Heels’ next match against California Golden Bears on October 17th. But maybe his days as a leader in Chapel Hill could come to an end.
