The generous offer from Belichick comes a week after the former NFL Coach signed a contract to become UNC’s new football coach, formalization of last month’s employment.

Belichick’s contract is a five-year deal that includes $ 10 million guaranteed for each of his first three seasons with an additional $ 3.5 million available in bonuses. News about the signing followed the rumors, which Belichick might still return to the NFL.
But UNC’s general manager, Michael Lombardi, a former NFL director, quickly closed speculation in a post on X and says: “His focus is on North Carolina Football, hiring employees and developing the team. NFL is not an option so stop doing that one.
