One of Hudson’s competitors will be Trans -Model Isabelle St. CYR.
St. CYR will be the first open trans participant in the history of the Pageant after winning the local Miss Monson USA pageant in Maine Town of Monson.
“When I started cheering, I had all the odds stacked against me. So much pushback, so many people who told me it wasn’t a room for me. But I fought for what I loved, and I ended up being a very successful cheerleader, winning state and national titles and inspiring people to participate, even if they hadn’t done it all,” St. Cyrle in a Facebook post on March 25.
“I sense a similar course in my ongoing journey with pageants. I think I have everything it takes to be Miss Maine US, and I know no amount of experience can match a true passion and drive to achieve something.”
Maine has been a heated battlefield for the ongoing national conflict between Blue State officials and the federal government on the issue of trans -athletes in women’s and girls’ sports since February.
Government Janet Mills and educational officials have taken a tough standpoint to enable trans -cluttering in the midst of enormous federal pressure from President Donald Trump’s administration.
The Ministry of Justice has brought a lawsuit against the state on the issue, the lawyer Pam Bondi announced at a press conference on Wednesday, and the USDA issued a financing freezing to the state on April 2.
The state has filed their own lawsuit against the Trump administration over Funding Freeze, and a federal judge ordered the administration to free up financing on Friday.

Now the state’s ongoing cultural war on trans -cluttering in women’s space could change the upcoming Miss Maine -Pageant in Portland, starting 10 May, then St. Cyr’s presence could evoke further debate.
St. CYR said she went into the event before Trump’s inauguration, and before the subject of transient athletes became a question in Maine, according to Maine’s overall coverage.
Hudson’s and potentially Belichick’s presence at the competition will only brighten the national light on it.
