The Khyber -Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government has decided to reject more than 16,000 government employees recruited by the caretaker government.
A draft law in this regard has been presented in the provincial assembly. Pakistan Tehreek-E-Insaf (PTI)-led provincial government had decided to reject the government employees recruited by the caretaker government. The provincial cabinet has approved the decision and assigned the responsibility for collecting details of recruits from all departments to the Minister of Law.
According to sources, up to 8,000 recruits have been identified in the details of various departments, including police and health departments.
The provincial government has prepared a draft law for immediate removal of these staff presented in the assembly on Friday.
The bill, which was prepared for dismissal of the employees, has been appointed Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa employees removed from Service Bill 2025.
Under the legislation, employees who had been recruited illegally by the caretaker government will be dismissed from their jobs. Following the approval of the bill, the relevant institutions and departments will issue messages of dismissal of the employees.
The bill states that a six-member committee will be formed under the presidency of the establishment secretary, which will consist of the Attorney General, the Law, Finance and Administration Departments and other relevant secretaries.
The committee will also review the possible complications that occur in this regard.
The provincial government has also presented Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Regulatory Force Bill 2025 in the house. According to the bill, a legislative strength will be established to implement regulatory laws in various sectors and prevent their violations with the head office from being created in Peshawar.
The strength will have far -reaching powers such as those given to police officers and will implement laws that deal with environmental protection, food security, price control and other regulatory sectors and prevent their violations.
Regulatory strength units will be established in each district in the province, which will be led by a Director -General (DG) who has an appointment period of three years.
However, the Minister of the Ministry could appoint DG for a shorter or longer period.
