Bill’s offensive Lineman retires at the age of 26 due to nerve damage from the latest injury

Tommy Doyle is now a former footballer at the age of 26.

Buffalo Bill’s offensive Lineman announced on Friday that he is retiring due to “permanent” injuries.

Doyle has not appeared in a game since week 3 in the 2022 season, and an injury he was inconveniented with during the 2023 -for -season left him with nerve damage.

“At this point, with the calendar and the healing process, it looks like it’s permanent. I’m just not able to play football at a high level and it’s time. When you know, you know,” said Doyle .

Doyle tore a ACL in 2022.

“I really fought and competed and worked to get back from this injury, only to be a little beaten with an even more catastrophic injury,” Doyle said. “But at the end of the day there was a lot of negative feelings and anger. … Do a lot of reflective recently and look back on it, I’ve learned a lot of valuable lessons from it.

“Football is something I have loved and put my life in. And I put a lot of time, effort and energy to try to get back on the field. But in the end it really is not the plan God has for me, and I know it’s true.

“I think what I want to remember most is just the conditions formed with the guys on the team, with the coaches, with the coaches, with the fans. It’s a fantastic city. It’s a fantastic city. The fanbase is great. Throughout my four years, playing in Buffalo, just the different changing rooms and how tight it was was something really special.

Doyle was a fifth round pick out of Miami from Ohio in 2021. In his rookie season, during the Wild-Card Round against New England Patriots, he caught a touchdown.
