Binance opens ‘BTC Options Writing’ to all users

Binance, the world’s largest cryptocurrency exchange, announced on Monday that it opens access to Bitcoin

“Options” for all users. The move is a direct response to a significant increase in retail needs after more strategic and sophisticated trade tools.

The options are derived contracts that give the buyer the right to buy or sell the underlying asset at a predetermined price of or before a specific date. A call opportunity gives the right to buy and represents a bullish effort on the market while a put option provides downward protection.

Writing options refer to selling calls or put which corresponds to offering insurance against bullish or bearish price movements in the underlying asset. The author (seller) compensated for the same in the form of a pre -premium.

Sophisticated crypto holders are known for writing opportunities to earn extra yields on top of the spot market stock.

“Accelerating crypto uptake will increase the demand for more sophisticated liquidity tools, and we are obliged to build a fuller package of derivative products to support our users.” Jeff Li, VP for product at Binance, commented on the development.

Binance said it will maintain robust risk management controls, which requires setting authors to pass a mandatory aptitude assessment and postal margin to safeguard their obligations.

The announcement comes as the market for wider BTC options has seen explosive growth, with the total trading volume that rose over 3200% from $ 4.11 billion in 2020 to $ 138.76 billion in June 2025, Binance’s press release with Coindesk said.

By enabling a wider user base to write settings, Binance aims to allow traders to express market views, manage risk, earn pre -prizes and implement strategies that go beyond simple directional bets.

To celebrate the launch, Binance offers a 20% discount on taker and maker fees for all newly listed option contracts, including them for ether (Eth)Bnb (Bnb)and Solana

. The exchange also improves its settings improved program for high volume and institutional dealers, which offers lower qualifying thresholds and more attractive fee structures.
