Blockchain Venture Studio thesis, supported by Pantera Capital and Hack VC, has debuted its Bitcoin Layer-2 network Mezo’s Mainnet.
Mezo is built to be Bitcoin Finance platform that allows its users to lock practical use in BTC and thus become their own bank, according to an E email message shared with Coindesk.
The project debuted its test network last year after a fundraising round of $ 21 million led by Pantera.
Users can use their BTC as security for mint and spend Mezo’s original stableecoin MUSD, creating a circular economy powered by BTC.
An ongoing barrier to wider Bitcoin resumption is that the restraint that users need to sell or use it, which may be out of concern to losing the value tied in their inventory. This, among many other reasons, can explain why Bitcoin has not yet fully proof itself as a form of money in addition to being a store of value.

Mezo has joined forces with several crypto platforms that provide use cases such as e-commerce shop Bitrefill, which offers MUSD gift cards and BTC Finance App Fold (FLD) that offer a cashback payment card and provide Bitcoin rewards.
