- Zinwa Q25 revives the BlackBerry Classic with modern hardware and software
- Original screen and keyboard remain in this updated 2025 Android phone
- Q20 -Conversion Set and Full Q25 -Hand Set are both expected to send in August
Chinese company Zinwa Technologies is preparing to bring back the BlackBerry Classic (also known as Q20) with updated internals under the name Zinwa Q25 (because we are in 2025).
The phone contains new hardware while maintaining many of the original iconic components, including the 720×720 touch screen, physical keyboard, LED message light and external shell.
This project aims to mix the nostalgic blackberry form factor with modern smartphone capacities.
Upgraded internaer
Fortunately, Zinwa replaces the original internals with a Medatek Helio G99 chipset, 12 GB LPDDR4X RAM and 256 GB UfS 2.x storage. The battery also gets an upgrade to 3,000 mAh and the camera system includes a 50MP rear sensor and an 8MP front facing camera.
Q25 runs Android 13 out of the box, but there are no plans to upgrade to Android 14 or newer. That said, Zinwa plans to give regular updates to tackle errors and add minor features.
The company sends Q25 with NFC, USB-C, a headphone jack, microSD card support and a single SIM slot. The modem in the new motherboard supports all Global 4G LTE tapes, making the phone compatible with most networks around the world.
In an interview with the YouTube channel Return of Retro (As you can see below), Zinwa said the updated trackpad will act as the original that acts as both a marker and directional pillow, depending on the condition chosen.
Zinwa Q25 will be available fully overall for $ 400 or as a $ 300 conversion kit for users who already own a Blackberry Classic and prefer to retrofit it yourself.
Both the kit and the finished unit are expected to be sent in early August 2025.
Zinwa has also confirmed that it is working on similar updates by BlackBerry Keyone and PAS, with future models possibly named K25 and P26.
