A deadly bomb -explosion hit the Nawagai area of the Bajaur District on Wednesday, killed at least four people and wounded 11 others, according to local officials.
The explosion took place on Nawagai Road near Sadiqabad Phatak in Khar Tehsil and allegedly targeted a government vehicle.
Among those killed were assistant commissioner Nawagai, Tehsildar Nawagai, identified as Waqil, a police -subedar and a police constable, police sources said.
The wounded were moved to Khar Hospital, where an emergency is underway. Rescue operations are ongoing at the explosion site.
Officials have not yet released details of the explosive type used. No group has so far assumed responsibility for the attack.
