Four people, including prominent priest Mufti Munir Shakir, were wounded in an explosion involving explosive materials in Arisdiction of the Armar police station in Peshawer.

According to police, Mufti Munir Shakir, the founder of the militant group of Lashkar-in-Islam, sustained damage to his left foot in the explosion. Other wounded individuals were identified as Kushhal, Abid and Syed Nabi.

All the wounded were immediately transferred to Lady Reading Hospital for initial medical treatment.

After the explosion, police arrived with officials of the Bomb Disposal Unit (BDU) and the Terrorism Department (CTD) quickly to the stage and began collecting evidence.

Law enforcement authorities conduct investigations in the area, with further investigations in progress to determine the nature and cause of the explosion.

Mufti Munir Shakir, a priest from the Kurram agency, came to settle in Bara Tehsil from Khyber Agency in 2004 after being thrown out of his hometown for encouraging sectarian hatred. His arrival in the Khyber agency went unnoticed to begin with.

Then he launched a local radio station and again began to collect supporters during his harsh interpretation of Islam. This time, his goal was a Barelvi -Religious scholar, Pir Saifur Rehman, who was migrated from Afghanistan in the 1980s and now lived in the Khyber Agency and ran a seminar.

After a series of violent clashes between the two groups, a Jirga was called in 2006, who decided to expel both priests. While Pir Saifur Rehman complied with the decision, Mufti Munir Shakir first opposed the expulsion, but was forced to leave by the locals. He made Mangal Bagh, then a local transport, his successor in the armed militia known as Lashkar-e-Islam.

In 2008, the Bara-based militant group of Lashkar-I-Islam was banned.
