Toronto Blue Jays Rookie Trey Yesavage became the latest MLB player to call fan -harassment after he said his family was “attacked” after his performance leading to New York Yankees’ elimination from the American League Division series.

“Living in this world, where there are so many different opinions and feelings that result in a lot of hatred, it is sad to see that people close to me are being attacked for my performances on the field,” he began.

“These people have done nothing to justify negativity to my actions, whether it’s my parents, my brothers, my boyfriend, family – it’s just really sad.”

Yesavage continued to say that although fans are entitled to their opinions, family and friends should not be targeted.

“I know I have the platform to tackle it, so I am. I hope people can realize that these people have nothing to do with what’s happening on the field. If you have a problem, I’m a man. I can take the opinions that someone has about me or my life. So I just wanted to get it out there.”

Blue Jays dropped in a 0-2 hole after a 10-3 loss to Mariners Monday night.

“We have a good day tomorrow to reset as a team and get ready for Game 3, and what’s going on,” said Yesavage after the game 2. “I wouldn’t count this group. This group is special.”
