Yasir went to Iran on a work visa, died in a missile attack on a tugboat in Iran’s Bandar Abbas port

KARACHI:
A young man from Karachi who was martyred in an Israeli missile attack in Iran has not yet had his body brought back to Pakistan.
Yasir, a resident of the Maripur area of Karachi, had gone to Iran six months ago on a work visa. He was working on a tug at Bandar Abbas Port in Iran when a missile targeted his boat, resulting in his death.
Iranian authorities will hand over Yasir’s body to Pakistan. His two brothers and other relatives are present at the Taftan border to receive the body.
speaks to Express PakinomistYasir’s brother Wajid said the body is expected to be handed over either tonight or Tuesday morning. According to him, the Balochistan government will receive the body from Iranian authorities and then hand it over to the family.

A representative of the Edhi Foundation, volunteer Saad Edhi, stated that all arrangements to receive the body and transport it to Karachi have been completed. A camp has also been set up at the Taftan border to facilitate the family.

According to the family, Yasir, 26, had gone to Iran six months ago in search of employment, working on a tugboat responsible for assisting ships with docking operations near the port. His last contact with his family was on Eid during a video call.
The family said they were informed of the incident by one of Yasir’s colleagues who reported that their vessel had been attacked. The shipping company later confirmed his death. Yasir, a resident of Younusabad in Mauripur, Karachi, was survived by his wife and a child.
On March 7, another Pakistani fatality occurred when a fisherman from Gwadar lost his life after debris from an Israeli missile intercepted by Iranian air defense systems hit his boat in Iranian waters.
On March 6, falling debris in Abu Dhabi injured six Pakistani and Nepali nationals due to an intercepted drone and wider missile activity over the UAE.
