The Bohra community in Karachi celebrates Eidul Azha on Friday with deep religious devotion and festive spirit.

Special Eid congregation prayers were held in various sites, including Saddar, Pakistan Chowk, Haidery, Baloch Colony and North Nazimabad.

The biggest turnout was at the Tahiri mosque in Saddar.

Security remained tight throughout the city as police and paramilitary rankers were deployed outside Bohra Mosque to ensure peaceful observance.

After prayers, members of the community performed the traditional animal sacrifice and marked the religious significance of Eidul Azha.

The festival is reminded of the devotion of the Prophet Ibrahim (AS), who was prepared to sacrifice his son Ismail in obedience to Allah. Eid also marks the culmination of Hajj -pilgrimage to Makkah.

Meat from the victims is distributed among the underprivileged as part of society’s long -standing practice with charity during the festival.

In addition, Afghan refugees resident in different parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, including Peshawar, Eidul Azha on Friday.

Eid beans were held in areas such as Hayatabad, Board Bazaar, Karkhano Market, Shamshato Camp and Nasir Bagh, where Afghan community offered Eid beans in large numbers.

Muslims all over the world observed Eid on Friday, while others celebrate it tomorrow (Saturday), following lunar observations in their respective regions.

In Saudi Arabia, Eid beans were held at Masjid Al-Haram in Makkah and Masjid al-Nabwi in Madinah.

Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, who performed Umrah overnight, joined the Eid congregation in Masjid al-Haram.

Meanwhile, millions of pilgrims arrived at Mina from Muzdalifah as part of the next phase of Hajj.

Pilgrims performed Rami, the symbolic stone of Jamarat al-Aqaba (the largest of the three pillars) and will continue the ritual for the next two days.

Eidul Azha was also celebrated over the United Arab Emirates. Dubai’s largest collection hosted by the Kalemah Center in Al Qusais.

Eid beans across UAE – including Abu Dhabi and Sharjah – highlighted messages about peace, victims and municipal support.

Emirati leaders urged citizens to embody compassion and service during the festival.
