Most MLB placements from 2025 had Atlanta Braves split somewhere in the top 5.
Many baseball analysts cited the talent that Braves had on their list that came into the season.
So far, however, the team’s campaign from 2025 has been a disappointment. Atlanta entered Thursday’s Matinée affair against Arizona Diamondbacks on a three-match’s losing row.

Braves built a 6-0 lead in the early laps, but D-backs placed seven races in the ninth to end the comeback. The 11-10 win also secured a series of sweeping to Arizona and pushed Atlanta’s losing row for four games.

Atlanta has now fallen 11 of 14 games.
Auxiliary pot Scott Blewett gave up five races, four of which surrendered in the last inning. Braves closer Raisel Iglesias came into the ninth with one out and gave up three earned races. Iglesias was the losing pitcher while Kendall Graves earned the victory for D-backs.

While some key players such as Pitcher Max Fried and others traveled after last season, the brave’s core group remained largely intact.
Stellar Defensive Outfielder Michael Harris, 2022 MLB Rookie of the Year; Three-time all-Star Ozzie Albies; Power-Hitting Third Baseman Austin Riley; Generation first Baseman Matt Olson; Gold Glove Catcher Sean Murphy; And Cy Young winner Chris Sale all returned to Braves and was expected to continue producing.
All of these players, except for sale, have had a disappointing season so far.
Ronald Acuna Jr., 2023 MLB MVP, recently returned to the lineup after he missed the start of the season while recovering after a 2024 knee injury.
Acuna appears to have quickly returned to its MVP form and hit four home runs and battled .333 through 12 games. At the end of May, he crushed a home race to deep left field from the first pitch he saw in his first match back with Braves.
Brian Snitker has worked in the Braves organization in some capacity for almost half a century.

He is credited to help bravely win the World Series in 2021. But the Braves Manager’s decision making has been investigated this season. Snitker’s contract with Braves expires at the end of the 2025 season. He has not publicly revealed whether he will retire after this year.
