The goal of each MLB team is to win the World Series, right?
Milwaukee Brewer’s General Manager Mark Attanasio considered the question of what his job is as owner.
“Is my job to win a world series, or is my job to give a summer of entertainment and passion and a way for families to get together?” Attanasio said via USA Today Tuesday.

“My goal from an ownership point of view is to always compete … I don’t like talking about us as a small market. We certainly haven’t played as a small market. Since 2005 we have the fourth most victories in the National League.”
While the team has been successful, the investment from ownership has not been strong.
The breweries have an expected payroll of $ 117 million from Wednesday, which ranks 22. In MLB behind Colorado Rockies.
Attanasio said it would be easier for the breweries to use against the top of the league if the revenue streams were more similar.
“We don’t have the financial ability to bring superstars. We’re trying to stick to what we can.”
The breweries were proactive in signing Rookie Jackson Chourio for an eight-year contract of $ 82 million last spring. The deal offers Chourio long -term security if he does not pan.

For Brewers, if Chourio turns into the star they think he will stay, they have a top-flight player under long-term control at a price they can afford.
These are the types of offers that the breweries must do to try to maintain talent at a cheaper price.
Attanasio pointed to the other leagues as an example of what they have done with their media contracts as a way of smoothing the expenses across the league.
“You can see what the NFL has done with their media contract. You can see what the NBA has done. It all sits right there. If we can do something similar, the cake is bigger for everyone, for owners, for players, for everyone, “Said Attanasio.
“We just have to figure out how to do it, no matter what the work system is.”

Despite the fact that the breweries do not invest more in the team due to knowledgeable traits, they are able to compete in NL Central as no team is a clear favorite.
Brewers’ General Manager Matt Arnold said despite financial restrictions, there are no excuses.
“We recognize the challenges in the industry around the economy of the sport, but we will not apologize for any of it. We have to do things a little different here and we embrace it.”
