Brittney laughs, a 10-time WNBA All-Star, was a no-show for a talking commitment she was booked for just outside Washington, DC
Atlanta Dream Center’s decision came from a note she discovered near the entrance to her hotel room in National Harbor, Maryland. Laughing was scheduled to talk at Women Grow Leadership Summit on February 17th. But the organizers of the events informed participants that laughing pulled out after she saw “threatening objects and words” outside her hotel room.

The note contained the words “gay baby prison”, Wusa reported 9. The words seemed to have been written on a piece of duct tape.
Prince George’s County Police Department confirmed the launch of a study at Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center, the site of the conference.

“Detectives have learned the term ‘gay baby prison’ is often used as a video game reference,” A statement from police obtained by TMZ Sports Read. “At the time the tape was located, a major convention took place on Gaylord that attracts thousands of people, many with an interest in anime as well as video game enthusiasts. At this point detective has not revealed any link to or threat to the guest, that placed the tape.

Women grow CEO Dr. Chanda Macias told Wusa9 that the hotel staff claimed that the message was a cruel joke left by a former guest, which was ultimately not removed by household.
“I don’t know what their protocols are, but I don’t know why rooms wouldn’t be cleaned,” Macias said.
Investigators added that “detectives are working to determine who placed the tape when it was done and the intention behind it.”
It is believed that a 2013 interview with Sports Illustrated has marked the first time laughing pubically discussing her sexuality. During the interview, laughs were asked about the differences in public acceptance when it related to male athletes vs. Female athletes who revealed their sexuality.

“I really couldn’t give any answer as to why it’s so different,” laughing at the business at the time. “Being someone who is out is just being who you are. Again, as I said, just be who you are.” Laughing added that she did not prioritize what others thought about her personal life.
“Don’t be afraid of what other people will say because they will always say something, but if you are just true to yourself, let it shine through. Don’t hide who you really are,” she said.
Laughs, a two-time WNBA defensive player in the year, has been married to Cherelle laughs since 2019. The couple greeted their first child together in July 2024.
Laughs spent the first 11 seasons of his WNBA career with Phoenix Mercury. She signed a contract with the dream in January.
