Brooke Shields revealed she was trying to entertain Meghan Markle under a panel at the SXSW conference in March 2024, but her attempt was left.
The mother of the bride’s star shared that she interrupted the Duchess of Sussex during the lecture because the conversation felt too serious.
Who remembered the incident, the actress said Meghan told his well -known story of writing to Procter & Gamble at the age of 11 to protest a sexist dishwashing soap.
When she talked about India Hicks’ podcast, she added that the moment was too heavy and decided to ease the mood of joking, “When I was 11, I played a prostitute,” referred to her role in the movie Pretty Baby.
The audience laughed, but Shields said Meghan did not seem too happy with the interruption.
“It was just too precious,” she said of Meghan’s story, adding that she was worried that the audience wouldn’t “sit here for 45 minutes listening to someone being precious or serious.”
“Katie asks the first question to Meghan and talks about how at a young age she already spoke for women, etc., etcetera,” remembered Shields, referring to host host Katie Couric.
