Cleveland Browns appointed Joe Flacco for his start -quarterback in week 1 despite having received a fierce competition from Rookies Shetes Sanders and Dillon Gabriel.
Flacco is the Super Bowl -Master Veteran -quarterback, who already has experience with principal coach Kevin Stefanski’s violation. He was the favorite to get the starting job, and Sanders, Gabriel and Kenny Pickett would have had to play astronomically well during the forecast and training camp to sniff the opportunity to start.

“The last few weeks, frankly, it’s been pretty good for me,” Flacco said last week via the team’s site. “I have to get more reps and become comfortable and feel like I’m doing things at a pretty high level.”
Sanders challenged to the QB1 role in his first preseason game. He had two touchdowns against Carolina Panthers, but an oblique injury made him miss out on this year’s second preseason game against Philadelphia Eagles.
Gabriel received the nod in that game. He was 13-of-18 with 143 passing yards and an eavesdropping.

Flacco did not play in neither Preseasy games and probably didn’t need.
He enters his 18th season in the NFL. He played for Indianapolis Colts last season and was used after Anthony Richardson went down with an injury. He was 2-4 in six starts.
Flacco had 1,761 passing yards and 12 touchdown passes.

Cleveland was 3-14 last season. They start the year against Cincinnati Bengals.
