The tension between the six-time pro bowler Myles Garrett and Cleveland Browns has been relieved. ESPN reported that Garrett and Browns have reached an agreement on a contract extension that binds him to Cleveland in the foreseeable future.
The deal includes just over $ 123 million in guaranteed money and pays Garrett an average annual salary of $ 40 million according to the report. These figures represent most money ever paid for a non-quarterback in the NFL story. Browns did not confirm the financial conditions of the agreement. However, the franchise announced that the contract extension was for four years.

If Garrett plays throughout the contract extension, he would carry a Browns uniform throughout the 2030 season. Sources told ESPN that a non-trade clause was written into the new contract.
The deal comes only two days after the reports showed up and said the Browns owner Jimmy Haslam had rejected a request to meet Garrett about his trade needs.

Last month, Garrett Browns informed his desire to be traded to another team. Garrett then asked to meet with Haslam. Instead of sitting with Garrett, he was redirected to Brown’s General Manager Andrew Barry, pr. Cleveland.com.

In a statement announcing his trade request, Garrett said he preferred to land with a challenger next season. “The goal was never to go from Cleveland to Canton, it’s always been to compete for and win a super bowl,” he said.
Garrett later doubled on these feelings and concluded that they were not “adjusted” with the direction of the franchise.

“I have a lot of love for Cleveland but it’s always for me that has been about [competing] For championships, the big games and winning Lombardis won, “Garrett told the NFL Network in February.” We haven’t had the opportunity to do it. That’s all I ask for. “
Browns ended last season with a 3-14 record.
Browns’ brass was firmly by the fact that they would not act this year’s NFL defensive player. Main coach Kevin Stefanski previously said Garrett is “part of the present. He is part of the future.”
