Shedeur Sanders may be the fourth string of the unofficial Brown’s depth card right now, but he gets nodded to start their first trial match on Friday night.
With Kenny Pickett and colleague -Rookie Dillon Gabriel, who both deal with hamstring damage, Cleveland.com reported on Tuesday that Sanders is expected to be the first quarterback under the middle against Carolina Panthers on the road.
Sanders said on Monday he wouldn’t see his father, Colorado Buffaloe’s head coach Deion Sanders, on practice yet because of not taking any first -team representatives. But his father has something to see right away when Browns starts Friday night.

“I don’t want him to see me getting a few reps, and he cheered like a good father,” Sanders said to journalists the first time he spoke since his father revealed fighting bladder cancer this season. “Like, nah, you can’t be proud of me right now. I have to get to the place I am going and I know it’s a lot I have to do to get there.
Sanders added that it is “a gift and a curse” with an NFL -legitimate father, because although it would be great to have this support in person, he knows what it would be like for them on the outside.

“We know how everyone would take it, like taking away from the team, with my own father showing up. It’s a gift and a curse at the same time,” Sanders said.
However, Sanders gets the first chance to show what he can do on the NFL scene with Browns’ violation. The fifth round elections also get the start due to head coach Kevin Stefanski, who does not want 40-year-old Joe Flacco, the team’s presumptive starts to risk injury in week 1 during the forecast.
Browns also signed quarterback Tyler Huntley because of the Pickett and Gabriel damage, though he probably comes from the bench when Sanders’ time in the field is over.

The report added that Sanders has only seen reps against the first team of Browns defense, a formidable group, a total of four snaps coming last week. But Sanders may have some chemical problems starting players like Jerry Jeudy, Cedric Tilliman, Diontae Johnson and David Njoku considering the lack of reps.
However, Sanders’ accuracy has been a speech point in Brown’s Camp, and it has been in a good way. It was one of his greatest forces while playing under his father in Colorado, and he has shown it in Berea, Ohio so far.
Sanders knows that the football world will look closely on Friday night, just as they were under the 2025 NFL draft when he tumbled the draft day three, with Browns finally taking him with the 144th gathering election. Gabriel was taken in the third round.

Eventually, Sanders was kept out of Saturday’s training camp practice due to arm tenderness, but he fully participated on Monday.
So he is expected to be at full strength and this will be his first opportunity to show browns and the rest of the NFL what he can do at this level.
