Auburn Tiger’s men’s basketball coach Bruce Pearl was appointed chairman of the board of directors of the US Israel Education Association (USIEA) on Thursday.
Pearl is one of the handfuls of Jewish coaches in College Basketball. He has been one of the most free -speaking supporters of Israel who only grew in the wake of Hamas’ 7. October terrorist attack. He was one of three Jewish main coaches who made the NCAA Final Four last weekend.

“I am deeply honored to be appointed chairman of the US Israel Education Association, and hope that I can even start filling the shoes from the outgoing chairman Dr. Phil Roe, former member of Congress and chairman of the House Veteran Affairs Committee,” Pearl said in a news message.
“My experience in Israel was transformative. I felt it was my responsibility to become more involved in the mission from Usiea and educate senior government leaders in America about the importance of supporting Israel. I also shared this important journey with my team. Usiea has helped to build the relationship between us and Israeli leaders and strengthen their communication on key issues.
Pearl’s goal is to reinforce the mission.
“I’ve dedicated a lot of my life to teaching young people about the importance of leadership, values and understanding different perspectives,” Pearl added. “My work with Usiea matches these principles, and I am happy to continue to build a bridge with an understanding between these two great nations.”

Pearl led Auburn to a 32-6 record. Tigers’ Final Four performance was the team’s first since 2019. Pearl has led Auburn to his only two final fours.
