Islamabad:
On Tuesday, the National Assembly began the process of approving the federal budget for the financial year 2025-26, enabling 108 requirements for reimbursement of RS5,162.5 billion for 29 ministries and departments after rejecting 405 disguised movements proposed by the opposition.
During the assembly session, President of Speeches Ayaz Sadiq, Finance and Income Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb presented the requirements of the Development Manager and ongoing expenses for non-development in the house.
Approval of grants related to the Ministry of Climate Ministry worth RS3,852 billion; Commerce Division, RS26,998.5 billion; Communication Department, RS114. 378 billion; Defense production, RS2,879 billion; Economic Affairs Division RS20,664 Billion; Foreign Department, RS62,584 Billion; And others.
Later, the opposition presented the 405 cut -out movements in the Cabinet Secretariat, Trade, Defense and Energy Ministry and Departments. The opposition members called the results of these ministries unsatisfactory and demanded a reduction in their budget.
The house approved 29 requirements for the Cabinet Secretariat to a value of RS151.63 billion and rejected 112 disguised resolutions; Five requirements for the Ministry of Defense worth over RS2,600 billion, rejecting 22 disguised movements and two demands for trade department of RS26.99 billion that reject 69 cut movements.
The house postponed the approval of cut -out movements and requirements for grants regarding the ministries of the Interior Minister, Finance, Human Rights and National Food Safety until Wednesday (today). The session resumes Wednesday (today) morning.
