Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfaraz Bugti has ordered strict action against government employees and officers involved in anti-state activities.
Chairman of a high-level meeting the other day, the Minister of Chief ordered the Divisional and Deputy Commissioners to identify and act against the officials dealing with activities that go against the interests of the state.
He made it clear that no government employee would be allowed to undermine the state’s policy and warn that offenders would be treated accordingly.
During the meeting, officials provided a detailed briefing on the law and the order situation and the delivery of services throughout the province.
The Minister of the Ministry reiterated that maintaining security and maintaining the state’s authority was the highest priorities.
He emphasized that no way would be allowed to be blocked and every district officer was responsible for ensuring law enforcement in his jurisdiction.
He approached corruption within law enforcement authorities and said that extortion at security checkpoints would not be tolerated. Any officer found involved in such activities would be immediately removed from their submissions.
He also emphasized that individual statements must not take precedence for state policies and urge officers to either comply with government directives or volunteer.
The Minister of the Minister issued directives to ensure that the national anthem is sung and the Pakistani flag is hoisted in all educational institutions.
He warned that head of institutions that do not enforce this practice should resign. He further highlighted the need to engage the Baloch youth in positive activities and said that mislead them in unnecessary conflicts serves no purpose.
With the already approved youth policy, local officers have been asked to promote educational and employment opportunities to strengthen their connection with the state.
“The government remains firm in its attitude against elements that challenge the state authority,” he said, emphasizing that compliance with official policies is a fundamental duty of all public employees.
Meanwhile, a four against Dr. Mahrang Baloch, head of the Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC) together with several other leaders and activists in connection with the killing of three people during a protest in Quetta.
The case includes several sections in the Anti-Terrorism Act and other legal provisions, says police sources. So far, three cases have been filed against BYC in Quetta.
Meanwhile, the protests over Balochistan continue against arrests by Dr. Mahrang Baloch and other BYC leaders.
On Sunday, a closing strike was observed to the second consecutive day in several cities, including Turbat, Mastung, Kalat, Kharan, Chagai and Panjgur. Protesters in Turn Cat have staged a sit-in for two days while protesters blocked Turnkarachi Highway.
