Bus accident leaves 16 deaths in jamshoro

At least 16 people have lost their lives, and several others sustained injuries after their passenger bus threw themselves into a gorge near the Bola Khan police station in Jamshoro -District in Sindh province, according to local police officers.

The bad bus wore workers from the Bheel Society who returned home after completing the wheat harvest work in Balochistan, said Deputy Commissioner Ghazanfar Qadri.

The tragic incident happened close to the Bola Khan police station, leaving two dozen passengers wounded.

Police confirmed that at least twelve bodies were recovered from accident. Four wounded bent during their injuries to Liaquat University Hospital in Jamshoro, pushing the death toll to 16, says hospital sources.

Rescue teams say five of the wounded were taken to a civil hospital in Hyderabad. They said that four children are also among the deceased.

The rescuer also said that one of the wounded was in critical condition.

Five of the wounded were transferred to the Taluka Hospital in Bola Khan, DC Qadri said. However, he noted that the hospital lacked the facilities to handle serious cases and described it as a basic health unit.

The cause of the accident has not yet been officially confirmed, but a study is underway.
