Bushra Bibi refuses to answer police questions without consultation with Imran Khan

Bushra Bibi, the former first lady and wife of PTI founder Imran Khan, has refused to respond to the police’s question mark during an investigation related to 20 protest cases.

The police team arrived at Adiala Prison in Rawalpindi, where Bushra Bibi is currently being held, to include her in the investigation into protests recently organized, reported Express News.

The teams of investigative officers, including inspectors Afzal, Yaqub Shah, Rashid Kiyani and others, questioned Bushra Bibi in the administrative block of prison.

However, Bushra Bibi made it clear that she would not respond to police investigation until she consulted her husband, Imran Khan, and her lawyer, Salman Safdar.

She said she demanded approval from them before she could make a formal statement.

During a hearing on the 31 cases registered after November 26, Bushra Bibi was presented to Judge Amjad Ali Shah. She requested that she be allowed to meet with PTI founder Imran Khan and her lawyer to discuss her answers to police questions.

Bushra Bibi also requested that the consultation take place in the presence of her husband, Imran Khan, and her lawyer.

The court, according to Standard Operations Procedures (SOP), ordered that Bushra Bibi was allowed to meet with his lawyer and Imran Khan before continuing with the investigation.

The consultation is postponed until March 7, 2025.

Last month, a local court in Islamabad rejected three petitions before the occasion of bail filed by Bushra Bibi.

Further sessions Judge Muhammad Afzal Majoka heard the petitions about cases linked to the protests on November 26, Express News reported.

Prosecutor Iqbal Kakhar and Defense Attorney Khalid Yousaf Chaudhry appeared in court during the case.

Bushra Bibi’s lawyer submitted an application seeking exemption from appearance.

The prosecutor claimed that Bushra Bibi could not submit bail bonds as needed. The judge expressed concern and said, “You have not yet submitted to bail bonds. You do not comply with the court’s orders. “

Defense Attorney Khalid Yousaf Chaudhry replied that Bushra Bibi had to appear in court for a 90 million -pound reference and was required to visit Adiala Prison.

Judge Majoka subsequently rejected bail care and noted that the preliminary bail previously awarded to Bushra Bibi was only valid until the consultation date. The cases against her tribe from her alleged involvement in protests held on November 26.
