LAHORE:
Bushra Bibi’s daughter approached the Lahore High Court (LHC) for permission to meet her mother, who is currently incarcerated in Adiala Jail.
Mubashra Khawar Maneka filed the petition through Lahore High Court Bar Association President Asif Naswana. The Government of Punjab, the Superintendent of Adiala Jail and other relevant authorities have been made respondents in the case.
The petitioner stated in her petition that Bushra Bibi is currently lodged in Adiala Jail and that she is her biological daughter. She maintained that under prison rules she is legally entitled to see her mother.
The petition further stated that according to the prescribed schedule, Tuesdays are designated for family visits in the prison. However, despite repeated attempts, the superintendent of Adiala jail has reportedly denied her permission to meet her mother.
The petitioner requested the court to direct the Superintendent of Adiala Jail to arrange her immediate meeting with Bushra Bibi.
