It’s all just fun and games – after all, Cunningham is the one who came to Clark’s defense earlier this season, which led to quite Ruckus on the field and several broadcasts. The three players have also clearly grown very close to and off the field.
Cunningham also called Clark’s face on WNBA and tore those who think otherwise.

Sophie Cunningham offered again this time four numbers to criticize the judges a second time
“It literally P — Esside me off when people are like, ‘she’s not the face of the league,'” Cunningham said of his Indiana teammate during the first episode of the “Show me something” Podcast. “We have a lot of bada in our league, and hell yes, I am all, but when people try to argue that she is not the face of our league, or that our league would be where we are without her, you are mute like s —. You are literally mute as f —.”
Cunningham remembered his season 2024 with Phoenix Mercury In his argument that Clark’s star power led to harsher treatment on the field from competitors during her rookie season.
“I know the conversations Phoenix had in their dressing room, just like ‘we want to show her what W really is,'” Cunningham said. “I get it to some extent. Every rookie coming into the league, that’s how you have to treat them. But there’s just more for her. It’s her second year. Now it’s on her team and seeing what I’m like ‘what are people doing?’ It’s just too much.
The guard is in her seventh WNBA season, but she has hit big time ever since she started a Ruckus in defense of Clark.

Jacy Sheldon knocked Clark in his eye and was also pushed on the floor by Marina Mabrey. Cunningham wrapped Sheldon under the basket of a fierce error in the fourth quarter and the two were pushed out.
