Caitlin Clark has not been able to get back on the field with the Indiana fever, but she probably took an important step to make it happen.

Clark, who has been out since July 15 with an annoying groin injury, was discovered that it did some easy work on Shootaround on Sunday, before her fever -teammates undertook Minnesota Lynx.

Now, head coach Stephanie White says Clark has not officially returned to fever practice, but participating in shooting drills is a step in the right direction.

“It was a good step because she got out there on the floor with us for the first time, part of that kind of return to activity,” White told Indy Star.

White added that Clark’s role was “very low, low maintenance” and “low intensity” as they certainly do not want to react her damage.

Caitlin Clark’s return to fever’s lineup remains mystery

“I just think to get her back out there, get her comfortable and see where she’s going.”

The exercise that Clark participated in, after reviewing what is considered dynamic warming, was not contact and low influence.

With seven games left in the regular season of the fever, they hope to stay in the playoff position. They are currently 19-17, which is good for seed # 6. Only the top eight seeds make the end game.

And while it goes without saying what Clark can give when she returns to court, it is almost imperative if Indiana wants to run, as several other key pieces are out for the year with injury.

The latest battle was Sophie Cunningham, the new fever star who tore her MCL this last Sunday during a game against Connecticut Sun. There were also guards Sydney Colson (torn ACL) and Aari McDonald (Foot Fracture), both of which suffered seasonal ending injuries.

These are three guards who are all out for the year, so the fever is cross -border after getting their superstar back if they can have the playoff position.

Clark, who also suffered a bone mark in his left ankle on August 7, has played only 13 games this year for the fever. She dealt with a quad tribe earlier this year before suffering from her current disorders.

Clark was an average of 16.5 points, 8.8 assists and five rebounds over 31.1 minutes per day. Fight with those she played this season.
