California College that replaces men’s, women’s changing room with closet space throughout gender

The University of California, Davis, has announced plans to convert her men’s and women’s changing rooms in its recreation centers to “universal” all-sex dressing room. The decision has led to the indignation of women’s rights activists.

The university announced the renovation project in February and claimed it was removing the old dressing room format for “inclusive.

“We appreciate inclusive, accessible environments that meet the different needs of our society. We are pleased to announce that we will remodel the current changing rooms to implement universal dressing room,” the university said in its message.

“All members of Campus recreation can use our universal dressing room, no matter who they are or how they identify. These spaces include members with disabilities and members of all gender identities.”

News about this change spread on Tuesday after two bills aimed at keeping cross -cutting athletes out of women and girls sports could not pass on Monday at state and federal level.

California’s woman’s rights activist Beth Bourne posted at X on the universal dressing room and setback from female students.

Women’s tennis legend Martina Navratilova called the situation ‘beyond f —– Up.’

“This is beyond F —– Up! Be prepared to lose a lot of women to this insanity,” Navratilova wrote.

Many other users expressed similar indignation with their own posts.

The university expects to spend $ 5 million on the renovations, and students will be getting all their belongings out of the current changing rooms until Wednesday. The renovated changing rooms are first opened again.

The university’s announcement says that all toilets, changing rooms and cabanas are individual, private spaces with floor -to -ceiling locks and claims that it “provides more privacy for all members” compared to the current format.

Pakinomist Digital has reached UC Davis for comment.

Tuesday, no Democrats in the US Senate voted in favor of the protection of women and girls in the sports law to break a filibuster.

Republicans needed 60 votes, but received only 51. The same day in Minnesota voted the landlords against the preservative girls’ sports law. All democratic lawmakers in the state voted against the legislation.
