A girls ‘trace meeting in California was transformed into a political rally on Saturday in the midst of a growing controversy over a trans athlete who has dominated in girls’ tall jumps, long -hopping and triple jumps this season.
The rally came less than two days after three of the state’s recognized Christian colleges sent a letter to California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) who challenged its long -standing policy that allows biological men in girls’ sports.
Jerra Catholic High School, Orange Lutheran High School and Crean Lutheran High School sent a joint letter to CIF on Thursday, referring to the Trans athlete, competing in Saturday’s state semi -final prelims.

“For young women, CIF’s gender identity policy means lost opportunities and an undeveloped gaming field. The consequences of this policy will be felt over the weekend as CIF’s state semi-final competitions on track and field events take place. The letter continued to suggest that some of the female athletes competing for the three Christian schools did not consider as did not compete against the trans athlete in Saturday’s semi -final prelims.
And then before Saturday’s meeting at Yorba Linda High School, several girls rathletes, parents and school officials at a press conference organized by California Family Council Outreach Director Sophia Lorey.
“No matter how hard we train, how many hours we put in, reality will always be that men and women are different,” said Olivia Viola of Crean Lutheran. “For me, this just doesn’t seem fair. CIF does nothing to protect us female athletes.”
CIF is currently under investigation by the US Ministry of Education for having allowed Trans athletes to compete in girls’ sports and potential violations of title IX.

California was one of the first states to openly defies President Donald Trump’s “Keeping Men Out of Women’s Sports” executive order after he signed it on February 5th.
“CIF gives students the opportunity to belong, connect and compete in educational -based experiences in accordance with California’s legislation [Education Code section 221.5. (f)] which allows students to participate in school programs and activities, including athletic teams and competitions that are in accordance with the student’s gender identity, regardless of the gender listed on the student’s posts, “said CIF, previously in a statement to Pakinomist Digital.
California’s governor Gavin Newsom said during an episode of his podcast that he believes trans athletes competing with girls are “deeply unreasonable.” But the governor still justified policies that enable it to empathize for the transformation.
The state has seen several controversy breaks out in the past year with regard to the issue, and many other residents and even some schools take stands against state officials who enforce the inclusion policy.
Redlands Unified School Board in San Bernardino voted in late April to adopt a new policy that would keep transnable athletes out of girls’ sports.
ONE Bipartisan Survey By the Public Policy Institute of California found that most of California residents are against biological male trans athletes competing in women’s sports.
This number included more than 70% of State school parents.
“Most Californians support that those who require transnry athletes compete for teams that matched the gender they were assigned at birth,” the vote states.
“Solid majorities in adults (65%) and probably voters (64%) support that requires transking athletes to compete on teams that match the gender they were assigned at birth, not the gender they identify with. An overwhelming majority of public school parents (71%) support such a requirement.”
