ESPN’s NFL draft analyst Mel Kiper Jr. And Miami Hurricane’s football coach Mario Cristobal was in a war war on Wednesday over the coverage of quarterback Cam Ward.

Tennessee Titans chose the one-time Heisman Trophy competitor with the overall choice of draft last month. It was the easiest selection that Titans could have made, and it went without a doubt the under-deck when the Shedsur Sanders’ draft of Slide began when Jacksonville Jaguars traded with Cleveland Browns to choose Travis Hunter with # 2 election.

Kiper was facing criticism during the three days of the draft as he harvested over the surprise of Sanders’ fall and even had an on-air tiff with receiving Davis when Browns eventually chose quarterback in the fifth round.

Cristobal said neither he nor the offensive coordinator Shannon Dawson talked to Kiper about Ward, even though he was talking to a “million people”, according to Action Network.

“Never heard from him,” the coach said. “I don’t think I’ve ever talked to him.”

Cristobal added that he wasn’t “disappointed” and would only be if Ward was upset. He expressed confidence that Ward would just hear his name called and come to work.

Kiper fired back toward Cristobal.

“Mario Cristobal claims he was talking to a million people about Cam Ward, but still he didn’t talk to me, Ward had ranked higher (6. On my big board) than any of the other drafts of experts. Interesting it is not,” he wrote at X. “And oh by the way, I didn’t talk to Deion about shower.

It was Kiper’s first post on the social media platform since April 23, and it seemed that Sanders’ fall was still fasting with him.

Ward is likely to be the starting quarterback when Titans’ season begins. Tennessee learned that it will take on Denver Broncos to begin the 2025 season on September 7.
