Lahore:
Former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has some degree of influence with his establishment, while his younger brother, Prime Minister Shehbaz, is “more subordinate to the powers that are,” said two politicians belonging to Balochistan’s National Party (NP).
Therefore, they said NP has to ask the older brother to investigate Balochistan’s questions and even talk to his younger brother to use his position in the case.
In a speech with the Express Pakinomist, the NP leaders said they are aware that PML-N is in power in the center and indirectly also in Balochistan, considering that the center has a lot of sway in the province.
They said that approaching Nawaz, who is the leader of PML-N would have made no sense if he had also been as subordinate to his younger brother. However, that is not the case.
One of the leaders said Nawaz Sharif can get things done when the establishment listens to him.
“The Balochistan question is a complex. There are nuances that require a more subtle approach. Nawaz has formulated a committee of five members, including the Minister of Law, Minister of Defense and Planning and Development and two of NP members to take things forward.”
He said the government has to come over with this “Indian agent rhetoric” and make sure it keeps its door open to everyone at all times. “After all, those who feel alienated are bound to look elsewhere. Why create these error lines for India to exploit? He added.
A legislature from NP also said this case was even outside Nawaz Sharif, but politically he is the only leader who can engage in the powers of the question.
He said Balochistan was milked for his resources by all the players and that no one worked for his improvement. He said former people used only to fear the chiefs and feudal gentlemen, but now these powers have created a myriad of mafia that people fear.
He said that the forces that are made mistakes after mistakes. He said that all political players and parties have been thrown out of the race in the 2024 election and that this will do nothing good. He said they have told Nawaz that they should expect nothing from the installed regime in the province.
“We have high hopes from Mian Nawaz Sharif. We expect him to play his role in tackling the question. Balochistan people see things differently than people who live elsewhere as we see what happens while others see what they appear,” he added.
