- Frame Laptop 16 Dual M.2 Adapters combining four drives to massive capacity
- PCIE GEN4 ensures faster data access and trouble -free multitasking
- Swappable components allow light upgrades and extended applicability
Framework has announced that its portable 16 unit is now able to install up to 26 TB Superfast Gen4 SSD storage.
This lift in capacity is achieved using a double M.2 SSD adapter along with high capacity 8TB WD_BLACK SN850X drive, allowing users to combine four drives (two pairs connected via double adapters) to reach the maximum Storage capacity.
Framework’s modular portable design philosophy allows users to easily swap components such as mainboards, memory modules and even whole shells when needed, which helps expand the device’s lifetime, reduce waste and promote sustainability through lighter repairs.
Expansion of storage options
Frames flexibility Here also benefits from PCIe Gen4 technology for faster data access and transfer.
Modular design also promotes an open source society where developers contribute new module design and software solutions. According to Framework, the Laptop 16S Open Source graphics module Shell has inspired new module developments, such as an e-paper display input module.
Expanding its obligation to open hardware, the framework also launched Deepcomputing DC-ROMA RISC-V MAINBOAR to the frame laptop 13.
Powered by the Starfive JH7110 processor and based on Open Source RISC-V ISA, this board is primarily designed for developers who want to speed up the RISC-V software ecosystem.
