The Canadian women’s curling team was the latest to be targeted at the Winter Olympics after they were determined to have committed the same violation as their male counterparts.

The Canadian teammates were called for “double-touching”, or touching the stone again after dropping it, against Switzerland at the Milan Cortina Games. The call came in the first end of the matchup Saturday. The officials called a foul and said Rachel Homan touched her rock twice.

The Canadian teammates were upset by the call.

“Like, absolutely not,” Homan said. “Zero percent chance.”

Emma Miskew, Homan’s teammate, asked the official why the call could not be reviewed. The official explained that the team had to trust the referee. World Curling does not use video to review games.

Homan said she felt she had been unfairly scrutinized because of the issues on the men’s side.

“I don’t understand the call. I never will. We never did,” Homan said. “It has nothing to do with us.”
