Canadian translator who defeated the 12-year-old girl defends trans-cluttering

Nathanial Morin, Canadian adviser to the Federal Minister of Women, released a statement this week defending the counselor’s participation in the women’s marathon as a transgender biological man.

Morin referred to President Donald Trump’s recent executive order that prevents trans -athletes from competing in women’s and girls’ sports in the statement.

“I realize that my participation in so many competitions will be talked about because of my medical history. The situation in the US and comments from certain politicians also not help,” Morin wrote.

“With all due respect to the level I compete on (amateur recect participate in the right category unless the law forbids me from doing it.”

Morin added that further medical research will be considered the counselor weighing whether to continue to compete in the women’s marathon.

On Tuesday, Morin made a post on X that further addressed the advisor’s status as a Trans Marathon runner.

“Trans people only want to integrate fully as their authentic self and be happy in our community,” Morin wrote.

Morin competed most prominently in 5 kilometers of Bougebouge Run on February 4, 2024. There was Morin in first place with a time of 25:32 and earned the title “Fastest Female” across all age categories.

The runner to Morin was a girl in the 10-12 years category who ran 26:08, who would have come in first place if Morin had not competed.

If Morin competed in the category of the gentlemen, Transgender Runner would have come in 10th place among all male participants.

From June 2017, everywhere in Canada, the Canadian Human Rights Act, Equal Opportunities and/or Legislation on Discrimination that prohibits gender identity or gender identity expressions. The law protects the inclusion of all trans athletes in women’s and girls’ sports.

Trump’s recent executive order in the United States states that any publicly funded institution that allows trans athletes to compete in girls or women’s sports losing its federal funding.

Trump has also repeatedly suggested that Canada join the United States, potentially as the 51st state.
