Following a successful treatment at Lahores Mayo Hospital, residents of Rawalpindi will soon take advantage of free, groundbreaking treatment of life -threatening cancers, with the installation of an advanced cryoblation machine at the city’s largest medical facility, Holy Family Hospital (HFH).
In accordance with the directives of the Punjab Health Department, the hospital’s administration has already submitted a formal requisition for the equipment.
According to reports, following the successful treatment of five patients at Mayo Hospital Lahore using the first cryoablation machine – imported from China on the instructions of Punjab Minister Maryam Nawaz – the provincial government has decided to expand this facility to leading division headquarters Hospitals throughout the province.
Consequently, the provincial health department has called on HFH, RawalPindi, to formally request the machine’s installation.
Medical Superintendent of HfH, Dr. Ejaz Butt, declared that the requisition is duly forwarded to the health department. Upon delivery, the machine is installed in the hospital’s radiology department, where space has already been set aside.
“We possess both the technical staff and the highly qualified doctors required to operate the cryoablation machine. We aim to ensure that it is fully functional within a year, allowing us to start free cancer treatment without delay,” Dr. Butt.
The Cryoablation machine is especially effective for cancers where surgery is unnecessary. It is capable of treating tumors of kidney, lungs, chest, liver, bladder and various other parts of the human body with remarkable precision.
Dr. Butt further explained that once the machine is in operation at HFH, cancer patients will formally be registered and treated in accordance with a structured schedule.
He emphasized that the provincial CEO has shown unique foresight by acquiring these advanced machines from China and thereby enabling cancer patients over Punjab to access life -saving treatment for free.
