- GeForce now has no plans available at all right now
- Day pass will be back in a few weeks we will be told
- The wait for full subscriptions could be much longer due to Nvidia’s transition to a new payment system for the service
Nvidia’s GeForce Now Streaming Service is currently not open to any new subscribers – on any Of its plans – and apparently this situation will not change soon.
Polygon reports that it has heard from Nvidia spokesman Stephenie NGO The day comes back too long, with NGO informing us that new registrations for the individual days of experiences should return in “about two weeks . ”
However, it will be a good while before the full subscriptions (monthly and semi -annual) that most players want to come back into play, and we are not told exactly when. So those who are tired of not being able to buy an RTX 5080 or 5090, and are instead considering going to the streaming side of the waste frame are rather out of luck.
We get a reason for this disturbance via an official message delivered on GeForce Now subbreddit. This is because Nvidia changes from a third -party payment processing system to take over these tasks themselves.
The company said, “We expect the transition to take at least 5 weeks.”
Ouch. However, there is good news for existing subscribers who will not be billed during this period.
NVIDIA noted: “From 31 January 2025, billing will be waived while we will surpass payment services. Even if you are not billed, your account will remain in good status. “
Analysis: High demand plus payment change combination
Apart from the free time given to existing subscribers, which is clearly a nice bonus for those who use the streaming platform already, this is also good news (in theory) for the service in the long term. The hope is that it will show a commitment to GeForce now, as it is no small matter to bring this system internally for Nvidia, which we can see from downtime here. In other words, it is a step that was undoubtedly not taken easily.
It will still be a little comfort for those who may want to sign up for a subscription plan right now or in the near future.
There is no clarity yet as to whether GeForce is now subscribers will have to enter payment information for their subscription, but this should not be much trouble even if required with the new system.
All this comes out of the back of Nvidia temporarily stop most subscription plans a few weeks ago, apparently due to high demand for the servers. Given this, it may seem at a strange time to change payment providers as well, but maybe Nvidia will take the opportunity to perform server or infrastructure upgrades at the same time as repositioning its payment system.
Who knows your guess is as good as mine – but hopefully after this next month or two of bumps in terms of subscription availability, it will be back to business as usual for GeForce now, and those who would like to join the cloud fully gaming Club. Much possibly before, there is some big jump in the stock levels of Nvidia’s advanced Blackwell graphics card to be fair.
