Like it was the game tied.

Vancouver’s Momentum continued to build during the overtime period, and almost four minutes into the extra frame, Kiefer Sherwood scored his 18th goal of the season to give Canucks the victory. Sherwood took a care from Connor Garland behind the net to deliver the game -winning goal.

Canucks won 6-5.

“Says a lot about the group,” Sherwood said. “‘Gar’ just played an absolutely crazy game. Felt like a slow movement, got my head up and put it on my bond.”

Vancouver became the first NHL team to score three times in the last minute of regulation. Each score came without their goalkeeper on the ice.

“It has to be one up there,” said Vancouver coach Rick Tocchet. “I loved the fight, of course in the third period. To do it is a character win for many guys, for the team.

“My son texted me – ‘you looked like last year’s team in the third.'”

Canucks won the Pacific Division last year, but has almost fallen out of the playoff battle. The team is 36-29-13 with 85 points.

The stars are four points behind Jets for the top location in the Central Division.
