Captain America: Brave New World has spread its wings in theaters all over the world. The first Marvel movie from 2025 is not all it is cracked to be – my Captain America: Brave New World Review explains why – but it lays the basis for what is going to come as Marvel Multiverse Saga -Tønder against his inevitable conclusion.
If you haven’t seen the Marvel -Phase 5 movie yet I will suggest bookmark this page and read its content when you have it because you have Larger spoilers follow For Anthony Mackie-starring flick. Captain America: Brave New World Ending Explained: How does Sam Wilson Red Hulk defeat?
With the power of the word! Okay, I’m facetical, but that’s how Sam Wilson manages to a) stop Red Hulk-the Gamma-Bild altar-ego by US President Thaddeus ‘Thunderbolt’ Ross-From Ramping Over Washington, DC and B) Conversion of Cap 2.0 to pulp.
Wilson is no super-soldier, despite his best efforts (and with a Wakanda-made, nanotech-infunded super drag and various gadgets at his disposal), he is no fight for Ross’ furious superpower alias. So much is ready with how easy Red Hulk destroys Wilson’s Redwing drones, his ability to resist hits from Cap’s Vibranium Shield and the effortless, which he tears Wilson’s costume from each other.
But like Brave new worldDirector Julius Onah told me ahead of Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) film’s launch, Wilson’s superpower is “His empathy and his heart”. He was previously an army veteran advisor, so he knows how to talk to people and engage with them in a caring way.
That’s exactly what he’s doing in this movie’s action -packed final. When he knew he can’t beat Red Hulk in a fist-fight, Wilson talks about his enemy down by appealing to Ross’ parenting side and saying he can still have a relationship with the alienated daughter Betty if he surrenders. It’s … a little weird that Wilson’s first mention of Betty does not work before their high -octanic battle, but hey, the second time is a charm.
Still, Ross listens to Wilson, calms down and returns to his human form. After being checked out of the hospital, Ross is transferred to the fleet, a high security under water prison for superpowered people first introduced in MCU in 2016’s Captain America: Civil War.
Captain America: Brave New World Ending Explained: Reforms Titular Hero Avengers?
No. Despite the Ross’ first request for Wilson to help him rebuild Avengers, events that arise in Captain America 4 means it doesn’t happen.
Well, not yet. In the final scene of the film, Wilson Joaquin Torres, who is still in the hospital, restores the serious injuries he sustained during the American-Japan conflict around Celestial Island that he plans to reform the Earth’s most powerful heroes. Whether he wants, at the time the next Avengers movie is rolling around (more about this later), however, is unclear.
Captain America: Brave New World Ending Explained: Bucky Barnes’ Como and Setup of Thunder Bolts*
There aren’t many comoser in Brave new world. In fact, there is only a really big character look throughout the movie: James Buchanan ‘Bucky’ Barnes, alias The Winter Soldier. I did not expect to see him because he yes he is ready to play in Thunderbolts*The last MCU -Phase 5 -Flick, released all over the world on May 2nd.
I was so convinced that he would be too busy dealing with cases in that movie to emerge in Captain America 4. Still, he is here, giving his support to Wilson as Torres undergoes surgery on his aforementioned life -threatening injuries.
So how does Bucky’s appearance create what to come in Thunderbolts*? The first and most obvious revelation is that Barnes goes out to participate in a charity fundraiser after his short gathering with Wilson. The first trailer to Thunderbolts* revealed that he is on the guest list of an expensive bash hosted by Contessa Valentina Allegra de Fontaine, so his presence at the said event is a prior conclusion.
The other tease is something I did not expect to learn. When Barnes leaves, Ross’s security adviser Ruth Bat-Seraph arrives with a coffee for Wilson. As she passes Barnes, she makes a double recording before she asks Wilson if she just as “Future Congressman” James Barnes. Marvel’s newest trailer to Thunderbolts* Showing a Duck-looking Bucky, Falcon and the winter soldier (Fatws). Whatever other public recordings of Thunderbolts* Confirms that he will not use the entire film to engage in congress debate-factually, he gets his hands dirty again as he leads a ragt-tag band with anti-lords against another potentially world-ending threat.
Captain America: Brave New World Ending Explained: ERM, Where is Bruce Banner/The Hulk?
Brave new world is a sequel to the 2008s The incredible hulk Total except name, so you may have expected a particular lean, average, green machine would join Barnes on the Komo list. However, Bruce Banner and his super-powered altar-ego (ie hulk) do not appear up-and I am sure you are wondering why.
The honest answer is: I don’t know. Last time we saw Banner was in the 2023s She-Hulk: Attorney by Law. Disney Plus Show’s last episode revealed banner – or rather Smart Hulk, essentially the result of Banner merging his personality and mind with Hulk’s body – had a son named Skaar. It is probably that he has spent the last two years getting to know his firstborn.
Convenient, although Smart Hulk would have been in Cap’s Climactic Showdown with Red Hulk, his possible look would have overshadowed Wilson in his own film. For that reason alone, it is not a huge shock that Smart Hulk was not called for by his fellow, although I suspect he would have been drafted if Wilson had not stopped Red Hulk.
Captain America: Brave New World Ending Explained: Is there a Mid -Credit Scene?
No. The fourth film in Captain America Movie Series does not have a midfield scene.
Captain America: Brave New World Ending Explained: Okay, what about a post-credits scene?
Fortunately, one of 2025’s many new films has a final credits, so there is a reason to stay until the end (you still have to do to appreciate those who worked on this movie, FYI).
In it, Wilson returns to the navy to visit the imprisoned Samuel Sterns. The latter was arrested in Cap 4‘s third act for brainwashing countless Americans and effectively send them to their deaths as his peasants in this great game he has played from the shadows. Oh, he was also arrested for escaping his secret laboratory at Camp Echo One and turning Thaddeus Ross into Red Hulk.
But I’ll take off. After a little back and forth between Wilson and Sterns, the latter Gads Wilson was telling him he’s not ready for what’s going to come. In fact, Sterns says he has crushed the number and decided that something big will happen. The conversation ends with Sternns informing Wilson that ‘the others’ are on the way, with the screen cutting to black a few seconds later.
Captain America: Brave New World Ending explained: Who or what are ‘the others’, as Samuel Sterns mentions?
The most obvious answer is that it has to do with the Multiverset. Marvel’s Multiverse Saga, which began with phase 4 and ends with Marvel Phase 6, has regularly shown us that there is an endless number of universes found parallel to MCU, which has been termed Miguel O’Hara in Sony’s animated film Spider-Man: across spider-verse).
Sorry I’ll get off-track again! It is so incredibly likely that ‘the others’ refer to these other universes. We know that Multiversen saga will end up with one Endgame– -size event that takes place across Avengers: Judgment Day and Avengers: Secret Warswhich will presumably bring this saga’s overall tale to end. The latter film’s subtitle is also a clear reference to the two ‘Secret Wars’ cartoon series that Marvel has also made. Each series’ story resulted in the collapse of the Multiverset and the remaining fragments of these realities that gather together to form a single planet known as Battleworld. I would then be amazed if Avengers: Secret Wars Does not incorporate this plot element into its narrative. For Other, you can read both ‘Secret Wars’ literary series plus over 30,000 other comics via the Marvel Unlimited app, which you can sign up for using the link and 50% discount on the code below.
In any case, Stern’s’ warning suggests that the arrival of ‘the others’ will create several intrusions (essentially the collision between two universes that destroy one or both hero) and lead to Battleworld’s creation. Wilson was almost poorly equipped to deal with Red Hulk in this movie, so he certainly won’t be ready for, as Stern’s elegant expressed it, “what’s coming next”.
The second option is ‘the others’ refers to all other universe’s Sam Wilson/Captain America, which may be far better and/or more powerful and/or potentially evil versions of Mackie’s character. Judgment Day and Secret wars However, will overflow with heroes and villains, as it is, then to introduce several multiversal variants of each character would, in my opinion, be excessive. I predict that ‘the others’ then refer to MCU’s universal siblings.
Captain America: Brave New World Ending Explained: How does it put the Fantastic Four: First Steps or Avengers: Doomsday?
Sterns’ ominous reference to side, Brave new world Does not start events for any of these films.
For one, The Fantastic Four: First Steps is set in an alternative universe to MCU. That has been made clear in The Fantastic Four: First Steps‘Teaser trailer, First step‘First Poster and a Marvel.com article teasing some key historical details of the fantastic Fire’s next big screen outing. Captain America 4Then have no business that establishes what will play out in a completely different reality than the one it takes place in.
It is a similar situation for Avengers 5alias Avengers: Judgment Day. It’s no secret that Robert Downey JR returns to MCU to play Fantastic Four’s legendary scouring doctor Victor von Doom and that he will be the primary antagonist for the next two Avengers films. He seems spiced to appear in First step In a como role or a post-credits scene ahead of its official MCU debut in Judgment DayWhich makes far more sense from a narrative setup perspective. It would have been incredibly strange if Doom had appeared in Cap 4 or if there had been any referrals to him in Brave new world.
