Julius Onah, the director of Captain America: Brave New World, Has explained why Mark Ruffalos Hulk couldn’t be part of the latest movie.

For the unwarterized, Captain America: Brave New WorldThe new Marvel movie contains Anthony Mackie as the new Captain America and some characters from The incredible hulk Return but Ruffalos Hulk is not in the movie.

Talking to The playlist, Director Onah shared the film is “completely based on Sam Wilson” and was only intended to focus on him.

He explained that the addition of Hulk would have “redirected attention” from Sam and said, “This is Sam’s first cinematic adventure like Captain America. And you want it to be about Sam leaning into his superpower to overcome the odds.”

“So you pull Banner in, as big as Mark Ruffalo is, and as exciting as it would be to have him, and suddenly the focus away from Sam. The conversation obviously came up, but in the end it felt like this one would be Sam’s movie,” said Onah.

It is relevant to mention that Captain America: Brave New World Premiere on February 14, 2025.
