Saudi Arabia’s biggest music festival has reportedly hit a major roadblock after Cardi B pulled out of her headline act just days before the event.
MDLBeast Soundstorm is scheduled to take place in 12 days, but the sudden change has reportedly left organizers scrambling for a replacement.
According to a report by The sunCardi B, who recently welcomed her fourth son on November 4, is now refusing to travel to Riyadh for the show.
An insider didn’t mince words when describing the situation behind the scenes, saying: “Forget a sonic storm, it’s like **t show right now. To say Cardi pulling out has got the Saudis smelling is an understatement.”
Funded by the Saudi government, Soundstorm has reportedly spent more than £225m securing a star-studded line-up.
Acts include Calvin Harris, Post Malone, Swedish House Mafia and Benson Boone. Even with such a high-profile roster, organizers are dealing with the consequences of losing one of their biggest names.
The source claimed that the festival isn’t completely sold out, and that has “made Cardi even more determined not to play.”
Organizers are said to be frustrated because she signed up knowing she would have recently given birth.
Efforts to persuade her to participate, including larger private jets and upgraded housing, have not changed her decision as she “digs in.”
With less than two weeks until the festival begins, the organizers are now urgently looking for another artist to fill the slot.
The insider described the situation as a “crazy struggle” and suggested that replacing her at such short notice would be expensive.
