Arizona Cardinals Principal coach Jonathan Gannon has drawn the attention of the NFLPA after he appeared to strike back Emari Demercado after his expensive fumble in Sunday’s loss to the Tennessee Titans, according to a report.

The NFL Players Association (NFLPA) told Pakinomist Digital Tuesday that it looks at the viral sideline spat between Gannon and Demercado, which took place in the fourth quarter after Demercado fell the ball before reaching the target line for what would have been a 76-yard Touchdown. NFLPA added that it has not launched a formal study of Gannon.

The result would have given Arizona a 21-point lead late in the game, but instead the ball jumped out of the back of the final zone, resulting in a touchback and revenue. The titans Run from behind to win the game 22-21.

Videos on social media showed a tense interaction between Gannon and Demercado. Gannon seemed to beat Demercado in the Mid Section, though it was not entirely visible in the exchange caught during the broadcast.

Gannon approached the situation Monday and said he “didn’t feel good about it” the morning after.

“I try to be emotionally stable and calm because my job is to solve problems during the game,” Gannon continued. “It’s not really who I am, who I want to be and I told guys it today. So it’s a mistake of me.”
