Celine Dion threw music generated by artificial intelligence that allegedly used her voice without permission.
Friday, March 7, the The heart will continue Hitmaker, went to her official Instagram account and processed the use of her AI-Generated Voice online without her consent.
“It has become aware that unknown, AI-generated music, which is alleged to include Celine Dion’s musical performances and name and equality, is currently circulating online and across different digital service providers,” she began.
“Be aware that these recordings are false and not approved and are not songs from her official discography,” added the five-time Grammy winner.
Dion’s post came with the growing concern of creative people, especially musicians, about AI to create music without the artist’s permission and make money from it.
By 2024, more than 200 artists have signed an open letter using Artist’s Rights Alliance that condemns “AIMusic Generation Technology”
The petition says, “We, the undersigned members of the artist and songwriting communities, calls on AI developers, technology companies, platforms and digital music services to cease the use of artificial intelligence to violate and devalue human artists’ rights.”
Some notable artists who joined the petition were Billie Eilish, Zayn Malik, Jonas Brothers, Jon Bon Jovi, Katy Perry, Camila Cabello and many more.
“Make no mistake: We believe that when used responsibly, AI has a huge potential to promote human creativity and in a way that enables the development and growth of new and exciting experiences for music fans everywhere,” the statement continues.
