New York Knicks defeated another double-digit deficit in the second half Monday to take a 3-1 series lead over Boston Celtics in the eastern conference semi-final.
Knicks pulled with 14 with nine minutes back in the third quarter, but ended the frame on a 30-13 race to lead on the way into the fourth.

And after both teams threw several jabs throughout the fourth, Knicks eventually pulled away to a 121-113 victory.
Celtics took a 99-98 lead with just over seven minutes to go after Jayson Tatum drilled his seventh three-pointer at night to give him 42 points in the evening. But Knicks was unmixed.
New York then went on another huge race that outcores Boston 18-5 over the next five minutes.
During the area, however, Tatum seemed to suffer a serious non-contact lower leg damage while going for a loose ball. Tatum immediately called timeout himself and was led off the field. Cameras showed him in the dressing room with a towel covering his face.

Celtics is already shocking down 3-1 in the series, and odds go even more in Knicks’ advantage if Tatum’s injury is what it fears to be.
Four of Knicks’ five starters ended with at least 20 points, with Jalen Brunson being a leader with 39.
Game 5 is back in Boston, where Knicks won both the first two matches in the series. With a win, Knicks will be back in the eastern conference final for the first time since 2000.

Celtics will have to make NBAS 14. Comeback from a 3-1 deficit to expand their title reign.
No one has come down from 3-1 since Denver did twice in 2020 at Walt Disney World Resort. That has not happened when a team had to win a real road game since Cleveland stood past the Golden State in the NBA final in 2016.
