Sony has announced a brand new variant of its DualSense wireless controller, launching alongside the 007 First light this year.
The 007 First Light Limited Edition Dualsense controller will launch alongside the game on May 27th, and pre-orders will begin in a few days. Next week, actually April 17th.
As is usual with Sony’s limited edition pads, it will set you back $84.99 / €84.99 / £74.99, and it has all the excellent features we’ve come to know and love from the PS5 controller, from haptics to adaptive triggers and great PC compatibility.

It is of course the design that is the star of the show here, and Rasmus Poulsen, Franchise Art Director at 007 First lightstates in a new PlayStation Blog post that “Every element of the DualSense design was crafted in celebration of Bond’s return, blending heritage and modernity to create a controller that feels unmistakably 007 from the moment you lay eyes on it.”
At its core is the shiny golden sheen of the controller, punctuated by and complemented by darker, black features.

The controller features the instantly recognizable 007 logo in the center of the touchpad with strong lines radiating from it across the pad. On the back of the pad, among the sea of gold, it is 007 First light name and slogan for ‘Earn the number’ is present.
I think it looks very smart and chic and I simply have to add it to my collection. I love limited edition PS5 hardware like this and with 007 First light being one of the most anticipated games of the year, this seems like the perfect way to celebrate.
Shedding more light on the limited edition design, Poulsen said that “the golden finish pays tribute to the franchise’s elegance, heritage and timeless style, while the barrel-inspired details reflect the game’s themes and how it feels to play, as well as being a nod to one of pop culture’s most recognizable visual signatures.”
