Chappell Roan marks ‘scary’ country music debut

Chappell Roan just moved his genre from pop to country!

The Warm to go! Singer has now released his long-awaited country-song with the title, The giver, To call the shift as a rather “bold and scary” feature.

Roan, who approached her single, her first since 2024 -hit track, Good luck, honey! said this transformation is not permanent, even if it is a complete shift from her usual pop song.

Going to his official Instagram account, wrote the American songstress, “(I’m very scared as I write this lol), but I think that’s the whole point of Chappell Roan. Be brave and scary and have fun.”

She continued, “Some of you may be new to the country scene and not quite sure what to do with me that I have a fele and banjo in my song.”

“It’s something else and sometimes different may feel bad because it’s unknown, but I encourage you to give her another shot,” Roan said further.

Earlier this week talking about The giver on Amazon Music’s Country Heat Weekly podcast, she revealed her thought process of thinking about how it would be “fun” to release a “lesbian country song.”

“Well, I can’t call myself Midwest Princess and don’t recognize Country Music, right up,” Chappell Roan said, referring to the title of his 2023 album, The increase and fallen by a Midwest Princess.
