Tub -push, famous by the Philadelphia Eagles, is back in the limelight this NFL season, after Green Bay Packers reportedly submitted a proposal to ban the play.
Los Angeles Charger’s main coach Jim Harbaugh has seen it done throughout the league, including by his brother, John, with his Baltimore Ravens. Jim admitted that he did not have a “strong opinion” about the case.
However, Harbaugh said he sees good football when he sees tush -push, which means finding a way to stop it or better to run the game successfully.

“It looks like it works every single time, but it looks like football for me. Stay good at it or stop it,” Harbaugh Pakinomist Digital said while discussing his partnership with Invivyd, the US Biotechnology Society, Working to give not -vaccine preventative options for Covid -19.
“I don’t have a strong opinion about it right now and probably expose others and see what way the vote is going. Stay good at it yourself, or get to stop it.”
Harbaugh said this was his thoughts after Eagles began to convert the piece to such a high rate.

Since then, other teams have tried the piece, but none with the same success as Eagles.
“I’m not a fan of this spectacle,” CEO said for Green Bay Packers Mark Murphy. “There is no skill involved, and it is almost an automatic first down to acting on a farm or less.
Athletic reported that Packers was the NFL team, which submitted a proposal to the NFL’s competition committee to ban the play, which will be elected by league owners in March.
“I guess the discussions will be in high season, but Quarterback -Sneak will never be removed from football,” Harbaugh added. “I guess that is the aspect of pushing [the player under center]and you are not allowed to pull [the player holding the ball]But you are allowed to push. “

The Eagles introduced the piece in 2022 and have converted it over 90% of the time. Despite Harbaugh and others feeling that the Eagles are converting it almost automatically, the percentage has gone down since then.
By 2023, Philadelphia converted to a rate of 88.1% and it was 82.4% in their Super Bowl-Winning Season in 2024. But it came in clutch for quarterback Jalen hurt to score another tush-push-touchdown in Super Bowl, the first score of the game to help them defeat Kansas City Chiefs.
The play was discussed last out of season, but we get to see where owners stand when they vote to ban the play.

This season, Harbaugh’s coaching involves spreading information about a multi-layer prevention method to fight Covid-19, which remains a serious health question, even if we are no longer in a pandemic.
