Chansas City Chiefs and Los Angeles Chargers met in São Paulo, Brazil Friday in the second NFL game in the 2025 season.
But just hours before the latest NFL International Series game started, announcing the offensive Lineman Mekhi Becton was performed as questionable due to a disease.
Chargers did not offer details of the nature of the disease that Becton experienced. On Saturday, the Super Bowl winner went to social media to reveal more about what may have contributed to his apparent hospital visit.

“Don’t eat rice and beans in Brazil Bro,” Becton wrote on an Instagram Stories post over a photo of what seemed to be an IV bag and a heart monitoring machine in a hospital room, shown screens for X.

Before Friday’s game started, NFL Network reported that Becton was not included in the final list of inactive players.

The chargers ultimately outperformed Chiefs. The 27-21 win also ended Chargers’ seven-match’s losing series against their AFC West Division enemy.
The New York Jets prepared Becton in the first round of 2020 NFL draft. He left Jets after the 2023 season. Becton and Philadelphia Eagles reached an agreement on a one -year contract in 2024.
He started 15 games in the guard position last season and won his first Super Bowl title with Eagles. Chargers signed Becton to a two-year deal this past season.

Betcon did not participate in some of the offseasons program due to a non -revealed injury. He was eventually cleared to resume football activities at the end of August. The chargers erected Betcon as the starting right guard that goes into the regular season.
Chargers will take on another division opponent, Las Vegas Raiders, in week 2., while Chiefs will welcome the defending Super Bowl champion Eagles on September 14.
