A moment of silence was held in honor of conservative influencer Charlie Kirk on Saturday night before the football game between South Carolina Gamecocks and Vanderbilt Commodores.
Gavin J. Smith, the president of the Inspector, pointed out the moment in a post on X. Smith’s photo showed a packed house at Williams-Brice Stadium.

Kirk was murdered during an event he held at Campus at Utah Valley University. He was 31. His death shook the sports world when South Carolina was far from the only team that had a moment of silence for Kirk.
NFL honored Kirk before the game on Thursday night between Green Bay Packers and Washington Commanders. Los Angeles Dodgers Pitcher Blake Treinen wrote Kirk’s name on his baseball cap and Nascar star Christopher Bell dedicated his victory on Bristol Motor Speedway.

“He inspired us not to be afraid of using our voice; not to be afraid of talking our minds,” South Carolina’s Turning Point said US Chapter President Mia Weathers to Count about 2 news. “He inspired us to just continue to fight for what we believed in, and he just paved the way and laid the foundation of many of us.”
Kirk was hit by a single ball around 2 p.m. 12:20 Local Time at Campus at Utah Valley University in Orem Wednesday. He was surrounded by mostly university students when his event was underway.
